I can’t think of a single person who would ever turn down more money. In fact, it’s actually a daydream I have on a regular basis to have more income. I can just imagine the things I would do – pay off my loans, buy a house, quit my job. They say money can’t buy happiness but it sure can make life easier. I’m going to give you just a few ideas to help you make more money starting right now!
10 Ways to Make More Money
1. Optimize Your Current Job
Some people actually like their job and I give you mad props! If this applies to you then you may want to try a couple different things. You could work more hours! To me this sounds miserable but if you like your job then ask for more hours! Another option is to ask for a raise. This may be intimidating especially if you’ve never done it before. But if you’ve been working for awhile at this job and you’ve done a good job then you should have the confidence to go for it. The worst that could happen when you ask for more hours or more pay is that your boss will say no. Lastly, I would suggest working towards a promotion. You’ll get a better title and better pay! This is more of a long term solution and will take time to achieve. Keep your eyes and ears open for available positions and discuss upward opportunities with your boss. Most of my bosses have always been very open to conversations and interested in my personal goals. If they aren’t then maybe you should consider upward movement to a different company with a better culture.
2. Start a Blog
Blogging is a great way to earn a passive income. Most bloggers only blog an average of 10 hours a week! Which makes it a great side-hustle opportunity! One of my favorite things about blogging is that you can literally blog about ANYTHING. Find out what interests you the most and start from there. If you find that there are multiple things you’d like to blog about then go with a “Lifestyle” blog where you can write about whatever is going on with your life. I know it’s crazy to think that some bloggers earn a full time income but it’s totally possible if that’s what you want.

3. Sell on Etsy
If you are unaware, Etsy is an online market place for home made goods. You can find anything from printables to custom tshirts and jewelry. The possibilities are endless so think about what kind of crafty things you can create! I have a friend who makes custom wine glasses and her business is doing great! Go ahead and check it out and see if it might be for you!
4. Write eBooks
This method will take more time to take off but if you enjoy writing and you have a creative mind then I encourage you to give it a shot! You can write anything – fiction, how-to’s, nonfiction, guides, etc. You could be the next big author! I recommend using SendOwl for eBooks! They’re great and they handle all the things that you don’t want to – payment, delivery, abandoned cart reminders. It’s the best resource to get your books out there for the world. I recommend using social media heavily to promote your products!
5. Start a Photography Business
Photography is a huge industry and if you have the talent then you should give it a try! You can do a wide range of things with a photography business. For instance, you can choose to only shoot stock photos to sell online or you can go the more traditional route and take family or wedding photos in your area. It all depends on what your preference is. Do you want to be more online and have a further reach? Or do you want to be more personal and thrive on relationships and referrals. Keep in mind you’ll probably want a website to direct people to even if it just includes your basic contact information and some samples of your work. I recommend SiteGround and WordPress! I have a post that goes through how to set up your site – read it here!
6. Take Surveys
This method is great if you just want a little extra money on the side. You can make an extra couple hundred bucks a month! There are several sites who will pay you to take surveys, complete tasks or even watch videos. Here is a list of some of the best sites in my opinion. Go ahead and sign up for all of them and maximize your earning potential!
7. Become a Virtual Assistant
Is there something that you’re really good at? Better than most people? Turn it into a profit! For instance, if you’re really good at graphic design then start a business to help others create graphics for the website, social media, promotional items, etc. If English is your speciality then proofread for people or if you’re bilingual you can help teach a language even! If you’re really good at finances then create a business to help people with their personal finances, budgeting, investing, etc. Just be aware of any legal implications. For example if you’re giving financial advice you need to disclose that you are not a professional (unless, of course, you are).
Becoming a part-time driver is another way to earn a little side money! This may require a little bit more compared to the others because you’ll need a car obviously. But if you do have a car then it’s something to consider! You get to choose your own hours (although peak times are better to earn more money) and you can drive around, listening to music which has always been one of my favorite ways to relax. The pros and cons are pretty even when comparing the two companies so try one out or try both!
9. Rent with AirBNB
If you haven’t heard of AirBNB, let me explain it to you. AirBNB is a company that you can use to list your property as a temporary place to stay for visitors. It’s like staying at a hotel or bed & breakfast but instead vacationers will stay at YOUR place! This is a great idea if you have a spare bedroom or second property that you aren’t using. It’s also a great idea if you’re going to be traveling yourself and want to earn a few bucks while you’re out of town!
10. Teach an eCourse
This is a lot like becoming a virtual assistant in my opinion. Find something that you are an expert at and then create a course for it! Teachable is a great resource to use to put your content online and they handle the transactions as well! You can make it as simple or complex as you want. Research similar courses to try to find a price point! The best part about this is that it’s passive income once you’ve created the course! And if you provide amazing content, your users may come back and sign up for new courses that you offer!
I hope you consider one or a few of these options to help you make more income! Which methods have you used to generate more money?
